Metamorphosis and transcendence are the themes at the base of Sankai Juku’s work. ”Kinkan Shonen” (The Cumquat Seed) deals with evolution and creation, and it does so typically through changing form – bodies that assume nonhuman shape as much as much as they seem to pass through various stages of transformation.
